Agreement and who can use Frenlocal
By creating an account or using Frenlocal, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use Frenlocal.
Frenlocal is operated by Hometec Marketing (SSM registration no. 202103100209), GG5, Connaught Avenue, No. 38, Jalan 9, Taman Bukit Cheras, 56000 Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

You must give your real date of birth. We close accounts that belong to under-16s or that lie about age.
Your account
One account per person, in your real name. Business accounts must use the real business name.
Keep your password and login codes private. You are responsible for what happens on your account.
Tell us at frenlocal@gmail.com if you think someone else is using your account.
You can close your account at any time in Profile.
Local-only service
Frenlocal shows only people, events and ads in the city where you are now. You may not try to get around this, for example by faking your location, using bots, or collecting other members' details.
Community rules
Frenlocal is for meeting real people for shared interests. Be kind, honest and safe. You must not post, send or arrange:
Harassment, threats, bullying, hate speech, or vulgar or abusive language.
Sexual content, nudity, or offers of sex or "companionship" for money or gifts.
Anything involving minors in a sexual or unsafe way. We report this to the police.
Illegal drugs, gambling, weapons, loan sharks, scams, or pyramid schemes.
Sale of alcohol, or alcohol-related events for anyone under 21.
Fake profiles, impersonation, spam, or misleading events.
Other people's personal details (phone, address, ID) without permission.
Anything that breaks Malaysian law, including the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 and the Online Safety Act 2025.
Custom interests you add are screened and reviewed before others see them.
Prohibited activities in events and business posts
Events, business promotions (text, photos and videos), company names and profile text must not promote or offer any of the following, whether or not you hold a licence or permit:
Gambling of any kind, including casinos, online betting, slot games, lotteries, 4D or betting on sports or animals.
Money lending, loans, credit or "fast cash", including licensed moneylenders.
Investment schemes or offers, including forex, crypto signals, "guaranteed returns", get-rich-quick, multi-level marketing and pyramid schemes.
Pornography, nudity, sexual services, escorts or "massage with extras".
Drugs, weapons, scams, fake documents, money laundering, animal fighting or wildlife trade.
Frenlocal checks posts automatically: text is checked before it is saved, and photos and videos are scanned for nudity and for prohibited words before they are uploaded. Posts that break these rules are refused. Automatic checks are not perfect, so members can also report posts, and we remove content and suspend or close accounts that break these rules, and may report illegal activity to the authorities.
Meeting people in person
Frenlocal introduces people; it does not run background checks on members and is not present at meet-ups. You are responsible for your own safety.
Meet in public places first, and tell a friend where you are going.
Do not share your home address, bank details or ID with people you have just met.
Leave if you feel unsafe, and report anyone who makes you feel that way.
In an emergency, call 999.
Events
Organisers must:
Give a true title, date, day, time, venue and location pin inside your city.
Give a working phone or WhatsApp contact. It is shown only to members who join.
Set the maximum participants honestly. If you set a minimum and it is not reached, confirm or cancel the event in good time.
Check in attendees fairly. Check-ins affect members' reliability ranking.
If you advertise prizes, actually award them to the winners you post. Only events with prizes can post results. Frenlocal is not responsible for prizes.
Not charge fees through Frenlocal unless we enable it; any money you collect outside Frenlocal is between you and participants.
Follow venue rules and the law, including permits for public events where needed.
Participants should join only if you plan to go, and leave the event in the app if you cannot. Repeated no-shows lower your reliability ranking.
Waiting lists: when an event is full, you can join its waiting list. When a spot opens, the first person waiting moves in automatically and is notified.
Cancellation: organisers can cancel an event; everyone who joined or is waiting is notified.
Messages, comments and ratings

Ratings and comments must be honest and about the event. Do not post fake ratings, rate events you did not attend, or offer anything in return for ratings.
Reporting, blocking and enforcement
You can block or report any member from their profile or a chat. Reasons include vulgar language, sexual content, threats, harassment, spam, fake profiles and unsafe behaviour.
We review reports and may, depending on how serious the case is:
Remove the content.
Give a warning.
Limit features (for example messaging or hosting events).
Suspend or close the account.
Report to the police or MCMC where the law requires or someone is at risk.
We may act without warning for serious harm, threats or anything involving children.
Business accounts, advertising and payments
Business accounts must belong to a real, lawful business and use its real name.
Every ad is reviewed before it runs. We may refuse or remove any ad, including ads for alcohol, gambling, weight-loss claims, financial schemes or anything illegal.
Ads must be true, must show your real offer and price, and must not target or appeal to under-18s for adult products. Alcohol ads may be shown only to verified members aged 21 or older.
Ad reach (city, state or whole country), dates and price are shown before you pay. Prices may change for future bookings, not ones already paid.
Payments are processed by our payment provider.
Ad results (views, likes, follows, taps) are estimates and may differ slightly from other tools.
Your content
You own what you post. You give Frenlocal a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, show and share it inside Frenlocal so the service works, for example showing your event to members in your city. The licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except where others already have copies (such as messages) or we must keep it by law.
You must have the right to everything you post. Frenlocal's name, logo, design and code belong to Hometec Marketing; you may not copy them.
Disclaimers and limitation of liability
Frenlocal is provided "as is". We do not guarantee that it will always be available or error-free, or that members, events, prizes or ads are what they say.
To the extent the law allows, Frenlocal is not liable for:
What members, organisers or advertisers say or do, online or in person.
Injury, loss or damage at meet-ups or events.
Prizes, fees or deals between members, organisers and businesses.
Indirect or consequential loss.
If we are found liable, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or RM100 if you paid nothing. Nothing here limits rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act 1999 that cannot be excluded.
Suspension and termination
You can stop using Frenlocal and close your account at any time. We may suspend or close your account if you break these Terms, put others at risk, or if the law requires it. Where it is safe to do so, we will tell you why and let you appeal at frenlocal@gmail.com.
Governing law, changes and contact
These Terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia, and disputes go to the courts of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
We may update these Terms. We will post the new version here with a new date and tell you in the app before an important change takes effect. If you keep using Frenlocal after that, you accept the new Terms.
